Now, here is this month’s message from Rev. Ike.

DON’T BE INDIFFERENT TOWARDS MONEY

I have discovered some very interesting psychological reasons for people having money problems.  Now your problems with money or your abundance of money, for that matter, begin with what I call your financial psychology.

What is my attitude toward money?

I had really never heard anybody probe into the psychological area of money much before I came along.  As a matter of fact, the question sounds strange.

The average person would say, “Well, what the Hell has that got to do with the fact that I don’t have the money that I need?”  Your attitude toward money has everything to do with your experience of money.  Your attitude toward money will draw money to you or repel money from you.  Your attitude toward money will help to maneuver you into better positions of financial compensation; your attitude toward money can even cut you off from getting that job or that position that would bring you greater financial rewards.

As someone has so aptly said, “Everything begins in mind.”  And money like everything else is a psychic vibration and in order to experience money or any of the goodness of life as you should you have to be in tune with its vibration and with the Infinite. 

Here’s another question for your self-interrogation:

Do I have an attitude that repels money?

Now I’m talking about money as if it were a person, because here again, money is a psychic vibration, and you remember in some of my other money sermons, I’ve told you things like money are just like a woman.  And in the psychic area of life, yes, money is a person, money has a mentality, money has emotions, money has feelings, and if you hurt the feelings of money, she is going to stay away from you, or give you trouble, or both.

It is impossible to be indifferent toward money, and have a good relationship with it.  Over the past two years, dealing with people who have money situations, I discovered some interesting things about peoples’ indifference to money and what it will do to them in their relationship with money.  I’m thinking of a very brilliant young man, who was in college making all A’s; in his junior year he got a job at the college working in the college radio station; he was excited.  I asked him, I said, “Son, how much money are they paying you for that?”  He said, “Oh, I don’t care what they pay me, it doesn’t matter.”  Right there I said to him, “Don’t ever be indifferent to money, because if you’re indifferent to money, you are going to have money problems.”  Let me pause here for an affirmation. Please use the power of your spoken word to say aloud this first affirmation twice:

Affirmation #1

I am not indifferent towards money!

I am not indifferent towards money!

So, to continue, for about a year after this young man graduated from college he had difficulty finding a job.  Periodically I would talk to him and work with him to help him purge his indifferent attitude toward money.  Finally, I think he just about got rid of his money indifference and he settled into society with a job.  Let this be an example to you of how your indifferent attitude toward money will give you problems that you would never think has anything to do with your attitude toward money.

I counseled with an aristocratic lady in Beverly Hills, CA.  Her late husband left her a wealthy woman, but she said her money got away from her.  And I wondered why until we talked further; during our conversation she divulged the reason her money got away.

She told me someone was interested in hiring her, and the person asked her, “How much money do you want for accepting this position?”  She told me her reply was, “Well, I don’t really know, it doesn’t matter.”  And I said to her, “If you said that, that is exactly why your money got away in the first place.  Don’t ever give money the idea that it doesn’t matter.” 
Please make note of this.

Again, I want you to learn to deal with money as a psychological or psychic entity, deal with money as a personality.  The theologians and the philosophers, for that matter, have personalized everything else.  For example, human error has been personalized as the devil.

I personalize money as a very beautiful, very sensitive, aristocratic woman.  If you start dealing with money on that basis, you’ll get ahead a lot faster.  Never speak lightly of money.  Let me give you one of those statements that people always make about money and think nothing of it. However, by making this statement they are talking money away with them.  Here’s what they say, “Money isn’t everything.”  If you have ever said this, I want you to use the power of your spoken words to say aloud:

Affirmation # 2

I forgive myself for being indifferent toward money;

I forgive myself for repelling money from my experience.

That is indifference toward money; it expresses an indifferent attitude.  No, money is not everything, but like the old song says, “Money won’t buy everything, that is true, but what it won’t buy, I can’t use.”

Money’s feelings are easily insulted, and she will go the other way, she will stick her head in the air, and turn her nose up at you and ease on down the road.

Money isn’t everything.  I overheard a woman say, “That Rev. Ike only cares about taking my money.”  And I explained to her, “Madam, you’re partly right.” After I teach and/or preach, I deserve to receive your offerings for my service to you. Even Jesus told his Disciples, “…the worker deserves his wages.” Do not be ashamed to receive money for your good services rendered; to do otherwise is to be hypocritical.  Here’s the next affirmation that I want you to use the power of your spoken words to say aloud:

Affirmation # 3

I am not a hypocrite about money.

Jesus also said, “If you be ashamed of me, I’ll be ashamed of you.” (Mark 8:38)  The same holds true concerning money; this is a cosmic law.  Whatever you’re ashamed of or indifferent towards will be indifferent towards you.

Affirmation # 4

Whatever I am indifferent toward, will be indifferent toward me. 

The truth is money is knocking at your door; the goodness of life is knocking at your door; Success, prosperity and happiness are knocking at your door, but you cannot be indifferent to the riches of life in any form, and think that they’re going to hang around you if they don’t feel welcome.  And if money does not feel welcome with you, if you do not establish a welcome psychology for money, you will have problems with it. 

Here’s an affirmation about money that I want to give you that will help to draw money to you, and it will cure your indifference toward money.  Remember, your spoken words have power so please say this aloud:

Affirmation # 5

My positive interest in money increases money in my life.

Whatever you want, cultivate a positive interest in it, a loving interest in it and yes, I realize that this runs head-on with what Apostle Paul says—For the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10)—and with what you’ve been taught, but I’ll have to say it over and over again until you get this error out of your sub consciousness.  You have to love money, but love it correctly.

Love money correctly.  And this is why in all of our prayers for money, and in all of our teachings about money, I’m constantly saying the following affirmation:

Affirmation # 6

I have money, but money does not have me;

I possess money, but money does not possess me.

I am the master of money, but money is not my master.

Money demands a positive man/mind.  You see the conscious facet of mind is the husband, the subconscious facet of the mind is the wife, the woman, and the money demands a positive husband. 

Affirmation # 7

I have a positive, loving interest in money.

And your interest in money has got to be positive, it’s got to be loving, it’s got to be active.  I have always been interested in money, but I had to get over my hang-up, because they told me it was evil, it was dirty, it was nasty, and it would make you a worse person.  But I found out I was worse off without it. The only negative that I’d ever experienced about money was the lack of it when I didn’t have it.

Train your mind to become so attuned to money that you never pass by where it is without paying attention.  Become aware of banks as you pass them all day long. 

And my last point is: There is always money available for good ideas.

Use the power of your spoken word to say aloud:

Affirmation # 8

There is always money available for good ideas.

There are people with millions of dollars who advertise in the paper and they are looking for opportunities to finance good ideas, because they realize they’ll make money and you’ll make money. 

Money is always available for good idea; ideas make millionaires.  Every fortune that has ever been made, every industry that has ever become successful, have been based on good ideas.  And Frederick Seabrook gave us that beautiful sentence, “God answers prayers with ideas.”  Therefore, become attuned to ideas, be sensitive to money, and don’t pass a bank without reading something in the window.  Get the Wall Street Journal and just read about all the people offering money for good ideas.  Read about all the big deals going on.  And your consciousness will begin to soak this in, and if you can’t get money, it means you don’t have the right idea and plan yet.

The only thing that separates you from money is the right idea.  Whatever you want in life, whatever good you desire, give it your positive, loving attention, don’t be indifferent.  Give your attention to anything that looks like money.

Give thanks to God for the goodness of money, and your praise and thankfulness for the money that you’re experiencing now will open your mind to the circulation of right ideas that will increase money in your life.

AFFIRMATIONS FOR JUNE

Now I’d like you to use the Power of your spoken words to say these Affirmations for yourself at least twice every day throughout this month of June:

I am not indifferent towards money!

I forgive myself for being indifferent toward money;

I forgive myself for repelling money from my experience.

I am not a hypocrite about money. I love money correctly and money loves me.

I see myself giving and receiving in abundance.

I see myself giving and receiving all of the goodness of life.

I see moneymaking ideas always circulating in my mind showing me new ways of making money honestly, easily, and consistently!

I have money, but money does not have me;

I possess money, but money does not possess me.

I am the master of money, but money is not my master.

5. Do I believe I am kicking money away from me because of my indifference toward money?
8. Do I know what I want in life? Refine the list you created in May.

2. If still NO, sit and imagine five (5) things you want for yourself then make another list of five (5) things you want for your family (children and/or husband).

MAKE A DECISION TO GIVE, DO NOT BE INDIFFERENT TOWARDS CIRCULATING MONEY

At this time, I would like to ask you to prepare a love offering to this Ministry if this teaching has blessed you in any way. I want you to use the Power of your spoken words to say these Affirmations aloud:

LIFE TAKES FROM THE TAKER AND GIVES TO THE GIVER.

I give this offering in love.

I give it in joy!

I give it with an open hand and an open heart!

I welcome money to my savings account.

Money you are welcome in my investment accounts.
