The Mission:
To offer each person the opportunity to create his/her best life by unlearning the information presented in this world every day that fosters fears, doubts, insecurities, violence, sickness, and poverty.
The Foundation
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. – Romans 12:2
2008 Study Topic #6 - THE POWER OF SELF DEFINITION
YOU DESERVE GOD’S GOODNESS
For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20

A SCIENCE OF LIVING PRINCIPLE
is not enough in life to live morally and ethically. You must also have the proper self-awareness to enjoy the riches of the kingdom of Heaven.

This journey of self-discovery consists of building blocks. Each month we give you a new technique to add to the previous months’ blocks. We encourage you to continue working with the earlier techniques as you add the new ones. We also invite you to incorporate the Mind Science technology offered by Dr. Tony Mitchell as you work through these lessons.
As always, we would love to hear from you about what you are discovering about you by asking yourself these questions and by answering the Science of Living Study Guide topic questions. Please give us time to respond to you; we do get around to answering your questions but it may take a minute.
Our next stop along our Self-Discovery journey with Rev. Ike is his teaching, “You Deserve God’s Goodness,” found in Chapter 6 of his Science of Living Study Guide.
To offer you additional insight, we offer an additional message from Rev. Ike.
Now, here is July’s message from Rev. Ike.
THE POWER OF SELF-DEFINITION
Joel 3:10:
… let the weak say, I am strong.
Romans 12:2:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…
I’d like to talk to you about the power of self-definition. Let me begin by defining self-definition. Self-definition is the image, and the belief, that one has of himself or
herself in his or her mind—whether it is clear or unclear, conscious or unconscious.
Every person carries a definition of himself within the womb of his subconscious
mind. The subconscious mind is the womb of creation. The subconscious mind is the
mother of man. The subconscious mind is the mother of all manifestation.
The conscious mind in Mind Science represents the male – the choosing, selecting facet of
mind—and I discussed its power that in the previous Lesson #4 – “The Power Of
Decision”. With your conscious mind – the male facet of mind – you decide, you choose
what you want to be, to do and to have. And that choice passes into the subliminal area
of mind—this is also where you perform your visualization work.
After you choose with the male facet of your mind—the the conscious facet of mind—the
idea of what you want to be, to do and to have immediately passes into the subliminal
area of mind and you visualize it, you see it. Through your visualization work that idea
comes into the now and you experience it as if you already have it. In your mind you are
already being it, you’re already doing it and this impresses that experience upon the
subconscious.
This seed is deposited into the womb of creation—the subconscious mind – manifests
your new experience. Therefore, every person defines himself or herself consciously and
unconsciously. However, your definition of you may not be clear. Unfortunately, in 99
out of 100 people have a self definition that is not clear. God has made you responsible
to choose what you want to be, to do and to have. When you’re looking for a positive
self-definition you – remember you have to build a positive self-definition. And I want to
make this an affirmation.
Affirmation #1
I must build and maintain my own positive self-definition every day.
You build it by your choices and by your decisions. So many religious people go around
praying and fasting and saying, “Lord, show me what your will is.” In God, every man is
god of his own experience. And as god of your experience, you must choose. The
Almighty Power within you says, “Choose you!” People are always trying to get
somebody else or God somewhere else to do something which they have been told to do
for themselves.
People are physically, mentally and spiritually lazy. That’s why many people cannot stay
my Mind Science philosophical teachings for long—they are too mentally and spiritually
lazy. They want the preacher to tell them what to do. I will teach you God’s laws so that
you will know how to make a decision but I will not make decisions for you.
Ah-ha ha! There is no God up there in the sky to make any decisions for you either.
There’s no God in the sky up there to decide for you or to choose what you want to be, to
do and to have. The God Power within you, says, “Choose you this day
whom you will serve.” (Joshua 24:15) In other words, choose you own self-image.
Because your self-image serves you and you serve your self-image. The image of
yourself that you have in your mind, that serves you and you serve it. You must build
your own self-image.
As you take responsibility for building your self-image you become a self-master.
A self-master consciously defines himself and thereby consciously determines
his fate.
Affirmation # 2
I am a self master and I consciously define myself; I consciously determine my fate.
Each of you defines yourself consciously and unconsciously all the time. You define yourself
by the way you feel about yourself.
Affirmation # 3
I define myself by the way I feel about myself.
That is the last thing I do before I drift off into beautiful slumber, I say, “I feel right
about myself!”
Affirmation # 4
”I feel right about myself!”
This is a mind clearing affirmation! You should never permit yourself to go to sleep
unless you define yourself as the one who feels right about himself or herself. When
you feel right about yourself you’ll feel right about everybody else.
When you feel right about yourself, your husband or your wife will have to
feel right about you; your boss will have to feel right about you and everyone will do
right about you. You’ll do right too. In life the most important thing is a clear
self-image, a clear self-definition.
Here’s something for you to consider: during the hours when you sleep, your
subconscious mind is busy building your world, the events and the circumstances of your
life that you are going to encounter when you wake up – your today is build around your
self-definition each night.
While you are asleep, the conscious mind is in abeyance more than at any other time in
your day. The conscious mind is not available guard the activity of the subconscious
mind. The subconscious mind is free to work out whatever you have put into your womb
of creation. That’s why the next day you may meet strange people if you went to bed
feeling uncertain of yourself or you went to bed feeling guilty or unloved.
The conscious mind sleeps; it goes into suspension when you sleep and you can
suspend it as will at other times. But the subconscious never sleeps. The super-
conscious activity of the subconscious mind never sleeps. “He that keepeth thee will not
slumber. He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:3-4). This
is the super-conscious facet of the subconscious. So the super-subconscious is the
subconscious of the subconscious.
If you go to sleep not feeling right with yourself, not feeling right about yourself, while
you are asleep, the subconscious mind – the super-conscious activity—goes through out
the Universe looking to connect you with all of the other people who don’t feel right
about themselves. Then the next day you go to the store and somebody cheats you. You
wonder, “Why did that happened me?” You pass by a house with a dog who runs from
everybody else, but bites you. Why, because you don’t feel right about yourself.
Everything that you feel in your subconscious mind you become magnetized for and
begin drawing the corresponding actions to you from everyone and everything.
Therefore, make the decision to be fascinated with success, healthy habits, understanding
how to use money correctly, and how to operate your own mind.
If you want to be successful, define yourself as one who is successful and as one who is
prosperous.
AFFIRMATIONS FOR JULY
Use the Power of your spoken word to say these Affirmations for yourself at least twice every day throughout this month of July:My positive interest in money increases money in my life.
Everything that God, the Father, has is mine.
I am a wealth son or daughter of God!
I forgive myself for thinking and feeling that I don’t have enough.
The Lord is my shepherd therefore I do not want for anything.
Everyday God gives me my daily bread therefore I always have plenty of what I need.
I feel right about myself all the time.
I love and forgive myself whenever I make a mistake!
As I forgive myself I am able to forgive others easily and effortlessly.
I am a self-master therefore I correctly define myself and I define my destiny.
Now go forth into July believing, receiving, and attracting all the good you desire into your
experience! –Rev. Ike
SELF -INTERROGATION
Your personal self -interrogation questions for The Power of Self-Definition lesson #6.
- How do I really feel about myself?
- Why do I feel the way I feel about myself?
- What can I do to change the negative impressions into God’s impressions about me?
- What have I heard other people say about me?
- Do I believe what other people say about me?
- Is what other people say about me important to me? If yes, why?
- Am I ready to take responsibility for my life experiences by building my own self-definition?
- Am I willing to do the work required to begin living my new self definition? If NO, what is blocking me and holding me back?
BUILD A SELF-DEFINITION THAT INCLUDES GIVING
At this time, I would like to ask you to prepare a love offering to this Ministry if this teaching
has blessed you in any way. I want you to use the Power of your spoken words to say these
Affirmations aloud:
Life takes from the taker and gives to the giver.
I give this offering in love because my Creator is Love.
I give it in joy!
I give it with an open hand and an open heart!
I welcome money in to my life experience.
I believe that what I give comes back to me multiplied because giving is God’s universal Law. (Genesis 8:22)
Money, Good Health, Love, Joy, Peace, and Wisdom, you are welcome in my life.
I am love!
Luke 6:38 (AMP)
38Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.
